Fitzgerald Theater

Website

(651) 290-1200

Venue: The Fitz is a traditional theater space in St. Paul owned by Minnesota Public Radio.  It is home to the the MPR program A Prairie Home Companion, as well as the occasional show

Booking: Though the Fitz doesn’t book a ton of music, their shows are generally either MPR/The Current sponsored events (like Fakebook) or larger adult-oriented shows (The Pink Floyd Experience).

Concert Experience: The theater is a lovely old space.  It isn’t quite as large as some of Minneapolis’s theater district venues (State, Orpheum) but it has a similar layout with a lareg upper deck and several balconies.

Drinks: A decent selection of wine and beer, though the prices are steep

Staff: A generally older staff, though friendly and courteous

Parking: Pretty decent amount of street parking around – you may have to walk a block or two though.

Inside Scoop: The Fitzgerald takes its name from Great Gatsby author F. Scott Fitzgerald, a St. Paul native
